Free data protection training for the palliative care sector in 2026

Published on 19 Jan, 2026

If you work in data protection in the palliative care sector, you won’t want to miss this.

What’s the free training?

We’re running three half-day online workshops, exclusively for palliative care colleagues, and also offering free places on some of our best-selling training courses.

    Half-day palliative care workshops

Exclusively for palliative care colleagues, the half-day workshops will take place from 1.30pm to 4.30pm:

    • Introduction to Data Protection, on 18 February
    • Subject Access Requests, on 19 February
    • Data Protection and Fundraising, on 25 February

The Introduction to Data Protection is a general overview for anyone tasked with responsibilities for personal data (patient, supporter or colleague) in a palliative care organisation.

The session on Subject Access Requests will look at the practical challenges with providing a compliant response to requests for personal data, while ensuring we are proportionate in the use of resources.

And the Data Protection and Fundraising session will look at issues around direct marketing and fundraising, including the new “soft opt-in” opportunity for charities.

    Data protection training courses

We’re also offering 2 free places on each of these online live attended training courses:

If you need more flexibility on dates, you can apply to join our self-study on demand BCS Foundation Certificate in Data Protection or self-study on demand BCS Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection.

If these aren’t right for you, you can apply for any of our other self-study options; you can see what we offer at Information Governance Training UK | Explore All Courses.
