Welcoming Chris Elwell-Sutton and Hugh Hagan to the Team

Published on 27 Mar, 2026

At Tkm & Associates, our focus has always been practical, expert-led support in data protection, information governance and AI governance. As regulatory expectations evolve, so too must the depth and breadth of expertise we offer our clients.

We are therefore pleased to introduce two new recommended partners: Chris Elwell-Sutton and Hugh Hagan. You can read about our new partners and the rest of the Tkm team on our About Us page.

Both bring significant specialist experience that enhances the support available to our clients across consultancy, training and strategic advisory work.

Chris Elwell Sutton – Specialist Legal Expert in Data Protection

Chris is a highly experienced lawyer specialising in data protection law. With a strong background in advising organisations on complex regulatory and compliance matters, he brings detailed legal insight to the increasingly technical landscape of UK data protection.

Chris will provide legal advice where required, ensuring that clients who need formal legal interpretation or defensible regulatory positioning have access to the right expertise. In addition, he will provide additional capacity on consultancy contracts, supporting more complex or high-risk engagements.

You will also see Chris contributing to our training portfolio. He will join selected courses to share insight into some of the more technical areas of the law covered in our programmes. He will also appear in our information webinars, helping to unpack legal developments in a clear and practical way.

Broader and Stronger Governance and Legal Expertise in Data Protection

For our clients, Chris strengthens the bridge between practical governance and legal precision.

This means:

  • Access to specialist legal advice where matters require formal interpretation
  • Stronger defensibility in high-risk or contentious situations
  • Deeper legal insight embedded into training and consultancy projects
  • Additional capacity to support complex programmes
  • Our approach remains practical and implementation-focused – but clients can now draw on enhanced legal depth where needed.

Hugh – Information Governance and Records Management Expert

Hugh brings extensive experience in information governance and records management, with particular expertise in archiving and structured information lifecycle management.

He will support the information governance and records management elements of our work, particularly where there is an archival or long-term information stewardship component. As regulatory scrutiny increases around retention, accountability and transparency, this expertise is increasingly valuable.

Hugh will also contribute as a guest presenter on selected courses, participate in information videos, and join us on our stand at IRMS this year – where we look forward to engaging with governance professionals across the sector.

Information Management Expertise for Tkm & Associates Clients

Hugh’s involvement enhances our ability to support organisations in managing information strategically, not just compliantly.

Clients will benefit from:

  • Stronger records management frameworks
  • Improved archival governance and lifecycle controls
  • Better alignment between operational practice and regulatory expectations
  • Practical support grounded in real-world governance experience

This strengthens our capability to support organisations handling large volumes of structured and legacy data.

Broader, Stronger Expertise in Data Protection & Information Management

The addition of Chris and Hugh as Recommended Partners reflects our continued commitment to depth, credibility and practical delivery.

As data protection, information governance and AI oversight become more complex, organisations need integrated expertise – legal clarity, operational governance, and proportionate implementation.

With Chris and Hugh supporting our consultancy and training work, Tkm clients gain access to a broader pool of specialist knowledge while retaining the practical, grounded approach that defines our work.

We look forward to introducing them to many of you over the coming months, through projects, courses, webinars and events.
