The plight of the Ukrainian people has moved us all, so we have decided to donate some of our training course earnings this year to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

For each person who books a full or half-day course we pledge £20; for a three-day booking it is £35 and those who book the practitioner level course we will donate £50.

We, at FYI and Tkm, have decided to make this financial commitment until at least the end of the year.

No one can fail to have been affected by the events in Ukraine and as refugees arrive and resettle in foreign countries, and we are keen to find a way to lend our support.  Using our educational courses we can contribute in some way to help those affected in their immediate, desperate situation.

DEC say that:

  • £30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month
  • £50 could provide blankets for four families; and
  • £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month

Our wide range of courses offer data protection training with qualifications at three levels that focus on practical implementation.  These include certificates and diplomas in Managing Data Protection Compliance – courses designed for data protection practitioners that can be completed face-to-face or through online training.

Our Practitioner courses, approved by the BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT), are suitable for people with existing data protection responsibilities seeking a broader understanding of current laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.  Through FYI, we also deliver practitioner certificates in records management and FOI legislation covering both Scotland and the UK.

FYI and Tkm also offer an extensive portfolio of information governance training, ideal as continuous professional development courses, all of which are recognised by badges of achievement.
