Liz Taylor - Tkm

Liz Taylor

Liz has worked in information governance and related fields since 1998, forming Tkm Consulting in 2014. Liz has provided training and consultancy since 2003 and provides DPO as a Service, leads on the practitioner certificates in data protection and also offers consultancy in FOI and records management.

  • Currently undertaking a PhD with University College London (UCL) looking at the role of the Data Protection Officer (DPO)
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Data Protection Law and Information Governance (Distinction, Dean’s List), Northumbria University, 2016
  • MSc Knowledge Management Systems (Distinction), South Bank University London, 2003

Experience

2014 to date – Deliver projects for private and public sector clients, managing strategic, corporate records management and related compliance. Recent experience includes delivery of information governance programmes, development and implementation of records management plans, knowledge and information audits, and legal compliance audits and assessments.  Specific data protection projects include risk-based programmes to address gaps in compliance, designing and integrating compliant procedures into core business processes, and assessment of GDPR requirements.  Design, deliver and assess a range of recognised qualifications, together with customised workplace training and provide Data Protection Officer as a Service to a number of organisations.

Liz Taylor - Tkm

Frank Rankin

Frank, a senior associate with Tkm, has over 30 years of experience in information governance, and has been providing training and consultancy on a freelance basis for the last ten years.

Qualifications

Originally qualifying as an archivist and records manager at the University of Liverpool, Frank holds data protection qualifications from BCS, APMG, IAPP, and postgraduate certificates in information governance from the Universities of Northumbria and Bath. A Fellow of the Information and Records Management Society since 2019, Frank was formerly a visiting lecturer in information governance at the University of Glasgow.

Role

Frank leads on the practitioner certificates in FOI and Scottish Public Sector Records Management, as well as providing consultancy in data protection, FOI, records management and archives.

Experience

Since 2013, Frank has been a freelance information governance trainer and consultant, providing information governance consultancy and training to a growing range of public sector bodies and business. He worked on information governance in the public sector for over 20 years, including local and central government, higher education and the NHS. His consultancy clients have included the National Trust for Scotland and The Macallan.

Liz Taylor - Tkm

Heather Jack

Heather has worked in information-related fields for her entire career since 1985, initially in public and subsequently commercial sector roles before forming  HJBS Ltd in 2003, firmly believing that too often technology rather than organisational and societal need was driving information management, governance and use in the digital world. She helps her clients to manage their information as a strategic asset, to maximise value, minimise risk and support service delivery and business improvement.

Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service

Tkm & Associates is delighted to be recognised as an approved Learning Provider by the MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credit Scheme. This means we can offer our SQA-approved courses to members of the Armed Forces.

This scheme is available to both serving personnel and service leavers, and service leavers can claim through the scheme for up to a period or ten years since their departure from service. This is subject to criteria listed on the ELCAS website.

Careers Transition Partnership - Preferred Supplier

The CTP provides a range of resettlement support to personnel leaving the Armed Forces, and we are delighted that Tkm & Associates has been added to their Preferred Suppliers list.

This year, Tkm and Associate's chosen charity is the Trussell Trust, an organisation that supports food banks across the UK.
