It’s been a busy year for us here at Tkm Consulting and Associates!
Of course, the most important thing we’ve done is to formalise the partnership between Heather Jack, Frank Rankin and Liz Taylor. Our new Tkm Consulting and Associates brand was launched in October, along with a new website, and we were delighted with the positive response.
Looking back across the rest of the year, highlights from the first six months include:
- Sponsoring the IRMS Roadshow in Glasgow in March. Liz and Heather also presented a session on “Overcoming the challenges of organisational and individual Records Management skills development”.
- Also in March, Liz Taylor was a nominee for Entrepreneur of the Year in the 2024 Ex-Forces in Business Awards.
- In May, Intelogy launched Orinoco, and Tkm are delighted to be partners for this great product. We also partnered them on an international client contract.
- Exhibiting at the IRMS Conference in May, along with two of our employees, Helen Christelow and Nadja Schnell. We also sponsored the event and Liz and Heather were on the panel for Empower You: Insights from Leading Women in IG Consultancy.
- Did you know Liz is from a hospitality background? She ran the Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders Refresher in person, May to August, for those licence holders needing to renew their training. She’s been delivering the certificate and refresher training for more than 15 years!
And during the second half of the year:
- Liz was a speaker at July’s IRMS South Wales & West Roadshow in Cardiff, talking about the role of the DPO.
- In September, IRMS Scotland Group held its re-launch event, with Liz and Heather part of the Group’s organising committee.
- In October, Liz was off to work in Jersey with Jersey Data Protection Law for a client. Hoping for a return visit soon!
- October also saw the launch of two new courses for 2025, both supporting information governance practitioners to understand the implications of AI, and to feel more confident when advising their organisation.
- In November Liz was nominated as one of Business Women Scotland’s Top 100 Women in Business! She and Heather attended the awards lunch.
- Liz finally completed the data collection phase of her PhD in November, which is looking at the role of the DPO. Just the analysis and writing up to go 😊.
- Sponsoring and speaking at December’s IRMS Christmas Roadshow in Edinburgh.
- And last but certainly not least, we raised £1,935 for the Trussell Trust during the first three quarters of the year and we’ll announce the final total in January, along with our charity plans for 2025.
As always, thank you to all of our clients, partners and suppliers for making it a fantastic 2024.
We wish you all a very positive and successful 2025!
