Course Description

The course is designed for candidates who are looking for an introduction to current data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

After completion of the course, candidates will possess an understanding of the rights afforded to data subjects and the implications of those rights. Additionally, the course covers the responsibilities placed on individuals and organisations, as well as data controllers and processors. Each candidate should be better placed to support their organisation in processing customer data in compliance with data protection laws.

Although not essential, some knowledge of data protection law would be beneficial as well as basic working knowledge or IT and GDPR.

Pay In Instalments

This is exactly the same course as the pay-in-full option, with the same materials, the same support, and the same BCS assessment included. The only difference is how you pay. Instead of paying the full price up front, you spread the cost over equal monthly instalments. You pay the first instalment when you place your order, and we invoice you for the rest month by month, each with a payment link. Course materials are released in stages as each payment is made, so you can start straight away and keep moving through the course as you pay. The payment schedule and the materials released at each stage are set out in the terms below.

Course Fee

We include a £45+VAT admin fee if you choose to pay for this course in instalments. If you’d rather pay in full, you can purchase the E-Learning BCS Foundation Certificate in Data Protection course here.

Pay In Instalments Terms

1. What you are buying

The instalment option gives you the full BCS Foundation Certificate in Data Protection (online, on demand). The course content, hard copy materials, BCS registration and BCS assessment are the same as the pay-in-full option. The only difference is that payment is spread over three months and materials are released in stages.

2. Payment schedule

The total price is £795 excluding VAT, payable in three equal instalments of £265 excluding VAT.

  • Instalment 1 is paid at the point you order the course.
  • Instalments 2 and 3 are payable monthly thereafter.

All invoices will be issued on receipt of the order, although they will be due monthly after the order was placed. Each invoice will be due on the date shown on the invoice.

3. What is released at each stage

On payment of instalment 1: we set you up on our learning management system with access to the introduction and modules 1 and 2.

On payment of instalment 2: we issue your hard copy materials and provide access to modules 3 and 4.

On payment of instalment 3: we provide access to modules 5, 6 and 7, and arrange your BCS assessment.

4. Access period

You have access to the course materials for one year from the date you place your order. This period is not extended by the instalment schedule, so we recommend keeping payments on track to give yourself the full year of study time.

5. If a payment is missed

If an instalment is not paid, no further course materials will be released until payments have recommenced. You will not lose access to anything you have already paid for although please note that instalment payments give you access for the year pro rata, ie for each payment you make, you’ll be given access to the LMS and client portal for 4 months. Once the outstanding payment is made, the next stage of materials will be released as normal. If your payment is not received 3 months after it becomes due, your accounts will be suspended. If the payment is not received for a month after they’ve been suspended, your account will be deleted, and you will need to order a new package to continue.

6. BCS registration and assessment

Your BCS assessment is arranged after the third and final instalment has been paid. You will not be able to sit the BCS assessment until all three instalments have been received.

7. General

The instalment option is only available through this page. If you order the course at the full price, the instalment terms do not apply.
