Five days online delivery (see available dates below), all course materials available in hardcopy, 1-2-1 revision session. There is a choice of assessment: A short and long answer examination which is usually completed 3 - 5 weeks after course completion under controlled conditions OR a submission of a portfolio of evidence, which can be based on your own organisation's policies and procedures, together with a viva, which should be completed within a year of completing the course.

Course Description

This course has been designed for those who wish to gain further knowledge of data protection principles and the practical application of same. Upon course completion candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:

• Knowledge and practical application of data protection and associated laws in a range of complex scenarios
• An understanding of managing data protection and associated legislation
• An ability to manage risks associated the personal data in an organisational context

Learners can add on our Diploma in Managing Data Protection Compliance (SCQF Level 10) to get both courses at a reduced rate. The Diploma is a self-paced practical work based project that on average takes 6 weeks to complete, and must be completed no later than 18 months after the Certificate in Managing Data Protection Compliance.
